growing up. He was my first connection to Cuba, his lyrics gave the push my imagination needed to picture what Cuba looked liked. In 2017, during New Year’s week I got the opportunity to visit this magical country. It was my first personal “photography assignment”, I wanted to take a stab at doing a photo essay. About Me My name is Daniel Vargas and I’m an emerging multidisciplinary artist. I was born and raised in Medellin, Colombia. At age 13, I migrated to NYC where I completed high school and college. This mix of cultures gave me a unique perspective on life and the way I go about in the world. I hold a degree in finance from Baruch College (City University of New York). My early carrier was in banking, working at Barclays Capital. Since 2014, I switch paths and have focused in the tech industry working for startups such as Uber, Zoox, and most recently, Flexport.
